Brass grip frame question

I am glad that I got one with the machining done. I could never accurately locate the holes on those last two up for auction! I would think machine shop costs would be well over the Buy It Now price he had on the earlier ones.

I'm thinking one of the big names in Rugersmithing will be used to fit mine as I couldn't carve a toothpick if given enough wood to keep me warm all winter!!! Fortunately, it looks like most of the work is done and I'd rather have too much brass for the smith to work with than not enough. The downside, is I don't currently have a NM for this to go onto. Any word that Ruger might introduce a NM FT in 45LC??? :wink:

PS - xtratoy....Your frame turned out great!!! If you do put it on your FT, please post pics!!!

I have one of the unfinished ones - No holes- also on the way.
I have screwed up more expensive things than this. I have no fear.

I do have some machining and layout skills.

The brass grip frame came today and it looks like it has been stored a LOOOOOOOOONG time, so I'm not sure where they originally came from, but I'm happy!!! It's 99% done, it just needs the holes for the frame screws drilled and the cast tabs cut off. Some minor filing, sanding and finish polishing should make it perfect!

This will go on the NMBH Conv. coming from GB!!!

Figures the announcement of the FT45's came out a day after placing my bid....but it's all okay...you can never have too many 45 Colts!!!
