Does anyone make a bore snake type cleaning rope that uses nylon, instead of bronze, for the bristle part? I know the bronze won't scratch the gun, I just don't like handling the thing and nylon doesn't get damaged as easy.
Please list those solvents for all interested. No need to use a dangerous product. Personally I have used brass brushes as long as I can remember and never had one 'turn to mush'. Guess I am lucky.Mobuck said:"And a new one to me is the brushes could turn to mush?"
Some bore solvents will "eat" brass brushes . Copper is a component of brass, therefore, a solvent that "dissolves" copper (inside the barrel) will also tend to dissolve the copper in the brass leaving a green gooey substance.
