I know there are many. I prefer to avoid GB, even though I have purchased from them in the past. NJ has a permit system where we must apply for a purchase permit, which can take anywhere from 5-7 days or several months. Then we go to our favorite shop and pay for a NICS check, which can take 5-7 days. If we ship a pistol to an FFL, they'll charge a storage fee on top of the transfer and NICS. As one shop owner told me, he makes no money on transfer guns. If I purchase it through his shop, he holds it until I get my permits and/or the NICS goes through.
Anyway, Rugers used to be inexpensive and plentiful. Times change.

The link I posted is not GB. It's a site that lists several online dealers starting with the lowest price. They are plentiful.
Unless those dealers are in NJ, OP is still facing the same issue.

I just bought that exact piece a couple weeks ago.....Grabagun, Buds, Sportsmans Outdoor Supers Store, etc......I found a ton all about the same price.
When I went to my preferred LGS to pick it up they had one in the case for more than I paid online (even after the transfer fee).

Enjoy your new Blackhawk XUSNordie. I just ordered a steel ejector rod housing for mine. I'm also looking for a source for a crescent or bullseye ejector. I prefer a bullseye. I purchased a BE for my old model Vaquero from brownell's years ago, but the company that supplied them are no longer in business. Searching.
Retsgt, despite your limitations due to N.J laws if you camp out on gunbroker (GB) it's possible to find one listed for sale at a gun store in your state and buying from them may be an option?

SA revolvers are scarce here too. And Ruger has lost interest in satisfying the revolver market. It's too easy for them to market more and more plastic pistols.
That said, if I do find a firearm I want, online, I just have my local FFL order it for me, and then in essence I am buying it from him. Yes there's still shipping involved, but the FFL buying from a large distributor directly, the cost will be the same as if the gun was on the dealer shelf.
I just looked at Bud's. They have them in stock and your dealer can make the deal with them.

So I'll be taking my ruger new model BH home soon. I checked it out while completing the paperwork at my FFL this morning. The steel ejector housing is out for delivery as I write this. I was surprised how small the grip frame is. I have an old model vaquero and its larger than the new BH. I was planning on replacing the stocks with some nice walnut panels I saw on Midway. I believe they are Hogue stocks. I was also thinking of switching out the grip frame to a stainless piece, but it doesn't look like simple remove and replace install. If there is anything I should look for, I'd appreciate the advice.

Is it a regular Blackhawk or is it a Flattop?
If they are both the original frames on the guns, I'm betting they are the same size, the XR3-RED frames in Rugerspeak.

I feel your pain, LOL! I, too, am searching for a BH in.357 with 4.6 barrel. I have been on Gun Broker and there are very few preowned for sale. That is a testament to their quality and utility. No one wants to sell theirs it seems. So, I guess it will be new in box for me if I can find a deal. I had one back in 1970 and sure did enjoy shooting it. Handy piece. I hope to make on my truck pistol.

Should be an XR3-Red frame, same size as all regular Blackhawks and the short barrel Super Blackhawk.

From 1970 it would have been an old model three-screw. The New Model is just not the same gun.

Many of the newer Blackhawks are not fitted perfectly, but that's become common with S&W and Colt also.
Some people have reported mechanical problems with some new Rugers. However they also relate how excellent and quickly Ruger customer service gets on the problem and how well the factory redo is handled.
New Models can be smithed to rival the smoothness and triggers of the Old Model. I'm doing my own work now, but consider the New Model more as an assembled project kit rather than a completed gun. I firmly blame @contender for that. It never bothered me much about the New Model action and trigger until I handled a well tuned and built custom 45 he has.
Once I began tuning my own triggers, I began to notice the large barrel and cylinder gaps, frame misalignment, hammer rub, end shake, over torqued barrels, etc. that I hadn't paid much attention to before. It either shot well or it didn't. Now days, if it's not a really great shooter, it's a full project. If it does shoot excellent, it gets a trigger job mandatory.

MSRP on New Model single actions is in the $900 to $1300 range now.
Lots and lots of OLD Models available in that same price range and they’ve just got a cool swagger lacking in the new guns.
Everybody’s got their own needs and wants but the old stuff does it for me. I don’t even own a New Model.

Try tdbarton over on the singleactions forum on Proboards. He makes excellent ones that are reasonably priced.
