I am not bashing Ruger here.......
But PLEASE make sure the revolvers that leave the factory have the sights on straight and TALL enough. .595" height and include about 2" of mill file for the owner to shorten it. How much money do ya'll spend sending out call tags? Or how's about just using the same style base you use on the stainless Blackhawk's?
My first Blackhawk that I had intentions of hunting with, came with a too short front sight as most do. I asked questions here and was told to contact Ruger. I called and the man who answered said if it would hit center of a 6" bullseye using a 6 o'clock hold at 12 yards, that it was in spec. Even if the rear sight was all the way down... Of course any of them will do that. But what if you want to hit something the size of a nickel at 25 yards?? Imaginary aiming?
As far as the sight being centered, I have not seen too much issue with that on my personal guns. None are centered, but I had to adjust them back extremely close to center once I lightened triggers and played with my grip some.
Also, while watching some show on tv a few nights back, Top Shot or something like that, I saw a neat trick. They were all shooting the same Uberti and most shot it low and left. They brought out the expert and he suggested pressing on the rear of the recoil shield with the thumb of the support hand to keep from pushing the revolver to the left with trigger pull. Seemed to work for the shooters he was coaching.
