Blackhawk cylinders

the simple and the obvious are some old model cylinders have a "firing groove" going all around the rear of the cylinder from chamber to chamber, and on the front of the cylinders, the gas seal ( ring/stub) on the old models is on the shorter side, maybe 1/8 inch protrusion and the newer models it is almost double that....easy to spot when they are side by side 8)

And most NM .357's have a much bigger frame with a much fatter cylinder which has a much larger distance between the center pin and chamber centerline.....not even remotely interchangable with an OM 357 cylinder.....unless the donor "NM" happens to be a "50th Annaversary" Model, or a New Vaquero, or a Montego...all of which were built on an OM-sized frame (sorta). Perhaps those will interchange, or at least, might could be made to fit.

Confused yet?
