Birdshead help

If I want to convert a stainless Single Six to a birdshead grip how or where is the best place to get the parts? How much will it cost (approximate)? Is it hard to do? Anyone done it?

A few threads on this here already. In a nut shell though, you'll need the grip frame to begin with. If you but from Ruger or Midway, it'll come 'in the white'. You'll need the trigger spring retaining pin and the grip locator pin. You'll also need to fit the grip frame to your cylinder frame. It'll then require finishing. If you buy a take-off, it could fit up nicely but it's no guarantee. To send it out and have it done, without finishing...figure $80 or so plus the parts.

I tried some searches but did not find anything. I may not know what I am doing. I found the grip frame at Midway I think. I looked at several places and found it in stainless at one but it was out of stock. I will call Ruger in the morning. I could not find a parts break down on their web sight. It does not sound too hard to do. If someone remembers a thread and can point me to it, I would appreciate it. Thanks

You should be able to find a parts breakdown on their website.

Even the stainless ones will need final finishing as those too are 'in-the-white' so to speak. Done forget the two pins I mentioned above either.

stainless grip frame: # KMR00308
blued grip frame: # MR00308

Trigger Spring Retaining Pin: # KXR06300
Grip Panel Dowel: # KXR01400

you can easily reuse the trigger spring pivot pin but if need be it's # KE02800
