I'm gonna put this here in the hopes more people will see it. Twenty one years ago I bought a Copper Model 36 22 rifle. I've put a ton of shells through it, killed close to a 1000 squirrels with it. Never had any kind of problem with it until this morning when the spring that holds the magazine release broke. With squirrel season coming in next Saturday I'm hurting. Do any of you guys know if Cooper still has parts for these rifles or where I might find a replacement spring? Many thanks.

I called Cooper bright an early today and to my great relief that did still have these springs in stock. I bought 2 of them just in case the next one only lasts 21 years. I'll be 86. I thought after what I paid for this rifle it would have had a lifetime warranty. Nope.

I would call Cooper 406-777-0373 and see if they have a spring for it. Maybe the model 57M spring is the same or close enough to modify to work. Cooper still offers the 36 magazines so they may have a spring. The 36 was only made for a few years and evolved into the 57/57M.

Jack First gun parts may have some parts for that model as well. 605-343-8481
