Today was our monthly USPSA match at my range. While the federal RECOMMENDATION is no more than 10 people,, there isn't MANDATORY requirement in NC yet. So,, we had the match. We originally had 35 people wanting to shoot, but a couple dropped due to work & dealing with a family issue. And we had a few drop due to this COVID scare.

But 23 shooters still came out to have fun!!!!

So, in light of the current craze,, I named most of the Stages with a connection to the current scare.
We had;
"Covid Crap"
"Wauhan Bang & Clang"
"Grab the Toilet Paper"
"Shoot the Media Hype"
"I got the Virus"
"Hoarder Revenge"

I couldn't rename the Classifier,,, but the others,, well, I just had to have fun.

And since the folks who came out are responsible gun owners & in general, more intelligent that a lot of the sheeple who are freaking out, it went fine.
Now,, we did have 2 squads,, which separated us into smaller groups. We also discussed normal things to avoid, & as such,, we all knew to be cautious,, and watch things.
And,, we haven't had any cases of the virus crap in any of the areas that these folks came from either.

Trying to keep life as normal as possible & NOT let the hype rule us!!!!!

Good job Ty, I wanted to go to my gun club on Friday but ended up having to do Hony Dew stuff instead, maybe tomorrow .... we'll see if there are other shooters there... I can usually go in the morning on a rainy day and no one around... but am wondering with so many folks staying home... in the mean time I'm making a new shooting range here at my house inside my 'fort' for shooting my CO2 and Airsoft Sig P226s.....

Glad y'all got together... I suspect regardless of the virus there was not a lot of hugging and touching... :-)

Great news that you club still put on a match. We've been closed out since last Thursday and I just hear the the entire range is being closed until next Thursday.

I missed our Monthly Steel Challenge Match. I was really hoping to shoot it because my son was going to join me for the first time in 30 years. Oh well, it won't be long until we are back and shooting. Our local indoor range is still open. I was lucky enough to go there Wednesday.

Sounds like a good time was had by all, and at just the right time. Bravo!

Thanks all.

We weren't stupid,, nor were we ignoring things. We had a serious talk during the shooters meeting,, and everyone agreed to enjoy things,, yet use a little social distancing & no hand shaking etc. Basically, common sense stuff.

As this thing progresses, or not,, will determine if we can do our match next month.

If so,, and all is settling down,, maybe the stages will be;
"Take that China"
Woo-Hoo Wauhan gone!"
"Quarantine killer"
"Masks? We don't need no stinking Masks!"
"I stole your toilet paper, so what?"
"9 month baby boom!"

I LOVE your stage names. Plus, your range is big enough, 23 people would still be able to be shooting and still far enough apart. Sounds like a lot of fun.

FM; I was referring to the Sheeple who blindly panic & don't use common sense. They follow the media hype,, on everything,, guns, politics etc. No offense at ALL to anybody who wants to take precautions. In fact,, I encourage folks who are more at risk to do more than others.
My son, asthmatic,, and a LEO. Plus, his wife has recently been fighting cancer,, and Lyme disease. I have give them STRONGLY worded advice about how to avoid such potential issues this virus can cause.
