50th 357 Blackhawk

Just picked one up off GB for a fair price, like the idea of the smaller frame, and was wondering how many of these were produced? Seems like it could be quite a few considering they seem to be everywhere. What do you think the chances are they will put these back into production again. You would think if they have the program for the CNC mills in hand they could produce these almost at will. Mine will be seeing plenty of range time next to my GP100. Thanks.

Well, I know you can still buy them for $369 at CDNN. So there still seems a good supply of them. Enjoy it. Shoot it. I know mine is very accurate. Like shooting a big .22 when shooting 125g lead bullets .

Picked one up for $375 with $15 for shipping. Have my eye on a .44spl in the pretty near future. My understanding there are/were 2000 of those, (44 spl), being produced in blue, with a stainless model on the way, but I have not seen any numbers on the .357.

FYI, Ruger made the .44 Special a 'standard' catalog item ... if you weren't aware . I have my eye on one too.... but economics says I must wait awhile before pulling the trigger.

From memory I believe somewhat less than 17000 produced. It's all in "The RENE".

Yup...the Red Eagle News Exchange has that info.
Serial numbers of the 50th Anniversary .357 Blackhawk go up to 520-16828....so, 16,828 less the 60 or so serial numbered frames earlier than this that came out of the factory as .44 Specials.
