13.0 grains Blue Dot.

Ruger only load (30k psi): 16.0 grains Blue Dot.

Thanks as I will try this load if Blue Dot is available at local gun shop. I am doing to use this load in a modern day Henry rifle.

Tnx again

FWIW.....before I got all excited about that particular bullet, I'd make up a couple of dummies and insure that they'd feed though my rifle. Reason is, some leverguns are rather sensative as to nose shape and AOL. That, and there aint no crimp grove...not a good thing if you're going for a heavy-type load in a tube-fed rifle.

Stay safe.

Please Disregard this, I re-read your original post and saw you are using XTP and NOT FTX bullets.

Because of the long ogive on the Hornady FTX bullets, their own loading manual calls for trimming the brass a bit shorter than standard length. If you buy shoot a box of Hornady Leverevolution in 45LC, you can see the empty cases are shorter than a spec 45LC case.
