I posted before that I was waiting for a 44 special in stainless with a 5.5" barrel to go with my 1000 nickle plated R-P brass I had. I got tired of waiting and picked up a new blued one for $399.00. I took it up and shot it today. Shoots pretty good. This gun is nice and tight and the barrel has the front sight straight up. No blemish's in the bluing and It shot a pretty nice group with Nosler 200 gr HP's over 8.5 grs of 800X, 800 FPS. The best 5 shot group measured .873 outside edge to outside edge. Didn't bother to subtract the diameter of the bullet for a Center to center measurement. I was holding the revolver and was using a rolled up sweatshirt to rest my wrists on to shoot this group at 25 yards. I am happy enough :D

Gee, turn that a bit, put a couple of "flyers" into the right place, and you'd have a nice little smiley face. :)

Nice job. I'm real happy with mine, too.

I won't deny that I had some groups with some 185 gr wadcutters I would have been embarrassed to post a pic of. I couldn't cover the group with my fist. 185 WC @ 1150 Fps did not produce top accuracy

Great group and a great gun. I haven't heard of a .44 Special Ruger that didn't shoot great. Regards, Rodfac
