Something makes me think you meant "Birds Head" when you said "Sheriffs"... and if so, the answer is 3 3/4" and 4 5/8".

Not if he's talking .44 Special (re the Birdshead part). I think, effectively he meant, "is there a 4-5/8" New Vaquero .44 Sp?" and the answer is yes.

No it wouldn't but that's the point. He saw the basic gun (platform) as being a "Sheriff" and not just a specific variation of a New Vaquero, which is all it is. Thus, the logic stream of wanting a longer "Sheriff."knuckles said:Then it wouldn't be a "Sheriff" model.
