One other thing that you may know, but just bring up in case you do not. That is that in some manuals, the max loads given for rifle use are somewhat less than those for revolver use. They mention that in the longer barrels, the pressures that result from a given load are higher.
So when choosing rifle loads, check to see that they don't exceed what is listed as max for rifles, even if they ARE listed as "OK" for handguns.

I never heard that before. I looked-up several 44mag loads on the Hodgdon website for both rifle and pistol and found no difference except in muzzle velocity. :shock: :D
