I picked up another Lipsey's 44 Special today NIB. Upon cleaning it I noticed the loading gate is very stiff when opening. My other one is not like that at all. Anyone have an idea as to what the problem could be? I placed a couple drops of oil and worked it. It may be some better but still not like it should be.

The spring that holds it can get into a bind fairly easily when reassembling the gun. Look at the tip of the offending one & compare it to the other one to see if they look the same. If not,, disassembly & reassembly may be in order.
Or,, it's also possible a small burr is causing the binding.

I've routinely "detailed" the sharp point on those loading gate springs. I use a stone and gently round off the tip of the spring.

As you've already done, a wee bit of lubrication is a good thing.

The hole the spring rides in might also have gunk in it, binding things up. There have been a couple of reports of junk in the works. You might try blasting it out with air/lube/brake cleaner, and/or disassembling it and checking it out.

Mine has that problem, as well. As per Flatgate's suggestion, I plan to disassemble mine in the next few weeks and stone the spring.

What part of NE GA are you located?

Union County (Blairsville) most of the time. A few miles miles from NC.

Let me know if it works. It will be this weekend before I can get back to my tools.
