There's one of these for sale on a local FB buy sell trade. The guy says he has two of them. Didn't know Ruger made such an animal. Sounds like a bargain to me at $450

just a regular 357 Blackhawk... yep they made em.
That was my thoughts also, but the guy swears it says "Super Blackhawk" on the frame above the trigger guard, and that he has two of them.

maybe so. i was not aware either!

i once bought a "Blackhawk" 22lr that turned out to be a single six.

Mebbe so... but I'd bet it says New Model Blackhawk. I had someone swearing to me he had a DA .44 revolver marked Blackhawk, actually got rather heated over it when I said it had to say Redhawk -- until he finally took a real look at it and admitted it said Redhawk, but that he had been TOLD when he bought it that it was a Blackhawk.

If they are Super Blackhawks (which I really suspect they are NOT), they are really "special" because they do not have a Super hammer, just the regular Blackhawk hammer. And wouldn't that barrel length have the square trigger guard?

All indications say Not Super.

Don't believe Ruger would have ever made a rollmark that said both .357 Magnum and Super Blackhawk on the same stamp.

As previously posted that looks like a regular BH grip frame and hammer. Also it looks like a 6 ½” barrel. The seller may not be interested in Rugers enough to appreciate the difference in model names and wasn’t motivated to go prove himself wrong. You don’t need to prove him wrong either. Just shop by the expression “Buy the gun, not the story”.

That would be strange and a rare one wouldn't it?

By the way, I haven't noticed any record of the single six barrel thread change in the RoRF. I have some serial numbers bracketing the change if you're interested.

Yes...hadn't heard of that change, but would be interesting to note. You can send me an email to [email protected] or post here if you wish.
