I have a .22 Ammo collection of about twenty older boxes.
My question is if it's legal to ship live ammunition?

If you're talking about 22 long rifle ammo, the demand is so high that you won't need to ship it. You can easily find someone local to buy it as long as it is legitimately priced. Ammo doesn't really expire as long as it is decently stored. Cool dry place etc etc.

What you want for it?....would fit well in my collection
Send me a PM if you are selling.

Yes, marked ORM-D Small Arms Ammunition, sent UPS, FedEx, etc. (NOT US Mail).
I received some ammo, just about a month ago, from a large 'on line company', and it came to me via UPS with only my name and address and their return address on the box. Nothing on it stated it was ammunition.

That's a nice collection it would be nice to show your grand children what it used to look like before the Demorats polititions stole it from us, I hope all you demorat voters are prod of your self's

The companies stop making those. How is that being stolen from us? How is that any different than old tobacco tins disappearing? :?

You can ship a box of dynamite by UPS if you do not state what's in the box or if you lie about the contents. Is it a good idea? Don't think so. What happens if you get caught? Don't know.

True
I've sold guns & ammo quite quickly on Backpage.com

I went to the UPS store today on other business, but inquired about shipping .22 ammo. They said UPS will ship the ammo but you need to go through an FFL dealer. Here in Boise that's a $25 transfer fee + shipping.
I'm going to do more checking......

That's silly. You don't need to transfer ammo through a licensed dealer/FFL. You may need to go to a main office of UPS rather than a retail UPS store. You can read a bunch of these rules on their website.

I once bought some hard to find ammo off gunbroker and this guy sent it to me in a USPS Priority Mail flat rate box. That's a big no-no.

Forget the UPS store, got directly to UPS, save the transfer fee. I'm in Nampa. Need to get together at some point for lunch or something. Be nice to meet a member.

I would figure that a major retailer would know the proper procedure for shipping ammo since they ship a lot of it. I am not worried about 'getting caught' as I have done nothing wrong.

Here are the UPS rules.

It's easy. Basically they say to pack factory boxes of ammo into a cardboard box securely and seal with tape with the ORM-D sticker on two sides. Take the package to a UPS distribution center for shipping. They will put the label on it and everything. I used a double cardboard box for security myself. :D

I'm not accusing you of anything. Notice that I said "Ship" not "Receive".
