I have a old 10-22 that I need a screw for putting the action to the stock. I see on e-bay they have some listed for the take down. Will they work on a my gun? Thanks

Brownells. Ruger would send you one for free but it may be hard to get them on the phone. They will be inundated with calls after the Christmas shutdown.

pretty easy to just go to the hardware store and get a 12x24 inch screw, and grind off the threaded area
about 1/2 inch up ( so the bottom or end is threaded about halfway) and the head should be approx. 5/15 inch diameter to fit in the stock hole recess....you can cold blue the head or leave it in the white, can even use a stainless steel screw............not sure what they actually call the head or type of screw, we just grind it down to shape, fit..............................need the threads from halfway up, to the bottom of the head of the screw to be removed to "clear" inside the stock and then thread into the receiver, thus the screw 'floats' and will not fall out of the stock...........
