Ruger GP100 4" and Simply Rugged Cattleman

I usually use a cover shirt over a tee-shirt. Depending on what is clean, the shirt may or may not cover the entire length of that new SR holster.

Ruger GP100 4" and Simply Rugged Cattleman

I don't know what year it is (I know that is a cardinal sin on this forum), the serial number is 175-02XXX. The only thing I have had done on this gun is having the chambers chamfered for easier reloading. I also bought the compact grips from Lett because they fit me much better. Other than...

Ruger GP100 4" and Simply Rugged Cattleman

I've tried IWB holsters before and was not happy with them. They became uncomfortable, especially during long hours of surveillance sitting in a vehicle. They are great for high concealability concerns though. I find revolvers especially uncomfortable due to the girth of the cylinder. I have...

    XR3Red type Brass Grip Frames

Well, if I can't get unobtanium, maybe I can get one made of transparent aluminum?

Ruger GP100 4" and Simply Rugged Cattleman

I have been a fan of Simply Rugged for a while now. I usually carry a GP100 3" in a Sourdough Pancake, but I ordered a Cattleman for my 4" in the hopes that I could carry it concealed on duty. The 3" is great, but a full size gun carried on duty is much more comforting. Note the pic below of...

GP100 Fixed Sight 4 Inch Half Shroud Barrel KGPF-340

I carry my 3" half-lug .357 every day. It is my favorite double action .357 of all time. I cut my teeth on a 686 back in the day... but the GP rules now. I put the compact grips on my 4" also. That is the perfect setup. RIP Lett :(

10/22 Extraction problem - after market barrel

If it was my gun... I might try that... but I'm going to give it back to him and advise him to take it to a gunsmith for the grinding. I've already broken two Swiss Army nail files on my Vaquero's front sight so it looks like a trip to Wal-Mart again tomorrow.

VAQ shoots 5" left 5" low at 20 yds 45 colt

Thank you for this thread. My new Bisley Vaquero shot about 4" low at 15 yards. It makes sense to me that Ruger would build them to allow the filing of the sight. Now I just need to drink a few Guinness and get to work on it with my Swiss Army knife nail file. It should look great and shoot...

10/22 Extraction problem - after market barrel

A friend of mine brought me his 10/22 that had been recently replaced with a heavy barrel. The extractor does not grab the case rim and just rides over it. It appears to be a problem with the extractor groove on the chamber end of barrel. Almost as though it's not cut deep enough or at the...

    Concealed Carry Loads

I would use factory loads more often but it takes too long to get my Hawken .50 cal. back from the factory loaded.
