    Ruger 9mm moon clips

I recently purchased an SP101 chambered in 9mm. I purchased some extra moon clips. My question for those carrying this revolver is how you carry moon clips? Also how delicate are they? I am concerned that a bent moon clip would jam revolver or not work. It would seem some kind of carrying case...

Ashley big dot sights on 9mm ruger sp101

Has anyone installed the Ashley big or standard dot front sight on 9mm ruger sp101. If so especially interested in point of impact regulation with the 9mm. I note that Ashley says not to use this model sight on the LCR 9mm, so wondering about the sp101. thanks for any info.

    I did a dumb thing................

I found the best way to remove Loctite is with heat. I especially like soldering iron to apply heat to specific/limited area. I use cheap soldering gun from Harbor Freight exclusively for this purpose as I do not want any solder residue to cause a problem. You might consider using vibra tite...

Ruger RH. How Prevalent are FTF Issues? Poll.

I had problem of weak primer strike with redhawk about 25 years of so ago. Ruger could not find problem at first, but eventually found it was the relationship of transfer bar to the hammer. You might specifically ask Ruger to check that area. good luck.

Source of fairly priced moon clips for sp101 in 9mm

I have an sp101 chambered in 9mm on order. I gather comes with three moon clips. Question is there a place I can purchase additional moon clips at decent price? I consider ruger store price of $15 plus postage for a three pack very over priced. Is there an after market alternative out there? I...

    Filing fixed sights

My SP 101 with 3" barrel is shooting low. I will try with a bunch of loads first and then I will probably file down front sight, if most or all loads are shooting low. Now if shooting right or left this is tougher decision, as have to file frame and there you can not put metal back on or...

    A couple of P95 questions

Grease may last longer if you shoot a lot at a single session, but oil should be fine. Mecgar make great quality mags. However, mecgar does not sell separate mag parts, such as, mag springs. Sometimes the springs for factory mags work, sometimes they may not. Just something to consider. For...

    P-89

About a year ago I bought a P89 SS, DC in nice shape with box and two mags. But mags were 10 rounders. From a store and paid $250 plus State Tax and $5 transfer fee.

    action slick up with toothpaste

You might consider dryfiring. It is the working of the action that smooths things up with use, not the recoil.

    SP101 range

My SP 101 seems to have the sights regulated for 158 grain bullets. 38 sp and 357 revolvers are pretty bullet weight sensative in regard to point of impact. While it is not what you would guess lighter bullets shoot lower and heavier bullets shoot higher.

    Ruger Fit and Finish

I just bought an SP 101 3" barrel and was impressed with fit, finish and both single and double action pull. While I may special order semi auto and take what comes, I like to inspect revolvers before I buy. That was case with the SP101, 3". It was "on sale" for about the same price I could...

    Quality of current SP 101

I am considering buying an SP 101 with the 3" barrel. Not many in stock around my area. I really like to examine new revolvers before I buy. Hate to have to sent to Ruger to correct crooked sights, end shake, etc. But with lack of 3" models on dealers shelves I may special order. So my...

Decent price on SP101 in 38 special

Went over today and the SP 101 sold last night before going on sale today. So someone paid the pre sale price of $260. Thanks for responses.

Decent price on SP101 in 38 special

Was just looking at an SP101 old 38 special chambering, stainless with shorter barrel (2" or little over, not the 3"), spur hammer. Was beat outside from being carried, but appeared sound otherwise. Since I would not be firing 357, the 38 chambering is no deal breaker. And I am sure it will...

replacing base pin latch spring in blackhawk

I went to their website based on your comment. How does the set screw work? I can not understand how it has anything to engage. And do you have to unscrew set screw, when you take out cylinder to clean revolver? Thanks.
