Wish they would have just named it the .350 Winchester.

"Legend" is a little out there for a brand new round, even irritating in fact...

I'm guessing that naming it 350 Win would cause confusion and get it lost among other Winchester calibers i.e, just another old Winchester caliber. Adding "Legend" to the name singles it out and gives it panache. ;)

Other than the bullet diameter, there's no confusing it with the nearly useless 350 Remington Magnum which has a belt and nearly unobtainable ammo. Did I mention that it also runs a 200 grain bullet at 2900 FPS. Yes I have 2 of them, a M700 Classic and a M673 in a M7 CDL stock. Bob! :D

I wouldn't run out and buy one this year, but I live in Indiana and the HPR rule is due to sunset after the 2020 deer season. If that happens, it's back to straight wall cartridges and if the .350 legend is still around, I'd likely buy one @ that point.

Well, I have to say, I love the .444 Marlin and wish it was offered in more rifles than the Marlin lever action.

I saw a couple of boxes of ammo at a gun show earlier this evening. They were 145 grain, which it occurred to me that that's not a lot of sectional density for .35 caliber, basically pistol bullet weight. It seems like a decent idea, but I'd think I would want a little heavier bullet, like in the 180-200 grain range.
