I have a K1A no#1 in 762x39, to answer your question i have shot steel case ammo in my no#1 with the following results -->(1) alot of misfires, steel case have harder primers for use in semi-auto's (AK/SKS rifles) (2)--> 2 1/2" to 3 1/2" groups at 100 yds and more over 3" plus than sub-3"...

I also have a 762x39 K1A no#1, they only made 262 of them so that is the cause of the high prices when you find them for sale.

the fore end and rails are made by nordic for ruger and only for the 556E, so far no one else has made any to fit this fore end and i don't think they will as ruger has stopped making the 556E

I have two no#1's, 1st one i bought was a 1A (7x57) new in 1976 and the last one was a lipseys S/S (K1A in 7.62x39), still have both they both shoot 3/4 to 1" groups and both have never fired factory ammo ever ! Only handloads, won't ever sell them! ever and both have great wood.

I have the lipseys K1A in 762x39 with a certificate of authenticity claiming model number (11309) is 1 of 262 Total produced.

i have had problems with a lot of dealers (buds) included ! i have ordered several guns from kygunco and have had very few problems with them, but with that said i can say they have solved those problems very fast ! i will say to do what i have is give them a call and ask to talk to the owner...

I have the SR556E and it's the same as any AR15 type rifle, just pull the charging handle back and it will eject your spent round and then let the charging handle loose and it will feed and chamber the next round from the magazine.
