How old is your Model 77? Back in the early 80s there was a recall on the tang safety due to some problem. Ruger sent out a replacement part as a fix.

I have been re-loading on a square deal and a 550b for over 30 years. About once every couple of years, something breaks on one or the other and I have to wait 2 days for the replacement part to get to New Mexico. I LOVE those guys!!

Bought a Mernickle holster for my 4 5/8 Stainless from Dillon catalog. I don't like the way it sits. What holsters are you guys using.

Have a Lipseys 4 5/8 stainless BH and it is my favorite. I always planned to do a Skeeter conversion but the money always went to other projects. It was a great day when I found out Ruger had produced some.

Under these circumstances I'd be inclined to use a shotgun(or Judge).

What kind of pipsqueek loads does that peashooter shoot??

Got a box of 180 gr XTP's in a Hornady promotion. I don't particularly care to shoot them in my Blackhawk but I do have a charter arms 2.5"pug that might work. I can't find any real data on loading these bullets. Has anyone had any success with them? Thanks in advance for your input. Dave

I don't really understand the need for snake shot loads. If you are within striking distance you should be close enough to hit it with a bullet.

The different thicknesses...by your design or did they just come that way? I ask because I ordered some oversized grips and just 1/16" on each side is almost too fat. I am considering sanding them down a little.
