Your favorite 22lr ammo?

My favorite? CCI standard velocity. The other stuff just feels like it beats the gun up cycling too fast. The standard velocity is very accurate too.
Suppressed 10-22= Aguila subsonic 40 grain RN
" 22/45= CCI subsonic 40 grain HP
Beater EDC 22/45= old stock Remington Golden Bullet HvHP
" " 10-22= Federal bulk pack plated HVHP
A couple of other 22/45's like Winchester Wildcat HV unplated RN.
Another 10-22 likes Blazer HV unplated RN.
More of my 22's shoot adequately with Federal bulk HVHP than any of the other ammo type/brand I've tried

Federal American Eagle plated hollow points. My bolt action CZ shots it way better than anything else.

First,, if it's a gun needing serious accuracy,,, then I find whatever the gun prefers & shoot that.
If it's general use,,, I use all kinds. If it's just plinking,,, or teaching or whatever,, we generally use some type of Federal.

I also find the CCI standard velocity to be very accurate.
I like the CCI mini mags for all around target shooting. They always feed, they always go bang.

I was a big fan of those back when they could be commonly found. My close second choice was/is CCI Mini Mags. Reason is, they both hit hard, I've yet to have a single failure with either, and that's what is important to me.

Depends on which gun, and what I plan on shooting with it, whether its some flavor of .22 or any other caliber. What works with those considerations in mind is what I buy. Don't have a one size fits all in terms of brand or cartridge/bullet design.

Shooting off a rest, my tricked-out target 10/22 at 100 yards is more accurate with CCI Blazers than anything else I've tried (and I've tried a bunch). Same rifle at 50 feet, Eley Match is marginally better than anything else.... but at 50 feet, darn near anything is a one-hole group.
My hunting 10/22 (bone stock except for the trigger), I shoot whatever high-velocity hollow point I can get. Shooting offhand, often at a moving target, I'm the limiting factor - not the ammo.
In pistol at 25 yards, it doesn't seem to matter; again, I'm the limiting factor. I shoot whatever is cheapest.

Remington Goldens. My Rugers have always shot them very well. Especially my Mark II Bull. I used to shoot the eyes out of bull frogs with it. 77/22 puts on a accuracy show with them too!
Depends on gun and use. My dedicated 10/22 with TS Pac Lite barrel loves CCI Stingers and Federal American Eagle 38 grain HP's. I hunt with the Stingers and plink with Feds.
My American compact is very accurate with top end ($$) Ely. CCI MiniMag HP's will usually shoot about .5" at 50 yards so I shoot them mostly.
My 10/22 TD, also with a TS Pac Lite barrel, loves CCI MiniMag HP's. I use those exclusively in it.

Whenever I get a new 22, I buy a couple boxes of every 22 lr ammo available and test each one in the gun to see what ammo the gun likes best. Blazer has been a good across the board performer with Federal Champion also right up there (I bought some Russian ammo a few years ago that was very good, but I can't find it anymore). My Rugers shoot very good with the Blazer and my Marlin 518 likes the Federals. I have a Contender bbl that likes CCI Green Tag...

My Coopers prefer either Ely or Lapua. I was at the range yesterday to do a little shooting and this was my best 5 shot group I could do at 50yds. And then there was the wasp that made the mistake of landing on a target and he caught a CCI Standard Vel.

Going at the topic from the opposite direction, Thunderbolts are the filthiest shooting, Remington Golden have the most 'duds'. MY Buckmark will shoot any brand flawlessly, the Bobcat demands highest velocity rounds, the Ruger Mark III and 10/22 are also not very finicky so far.
IMHO there is NO brand of .22LR that is going to always be 100% just due to the nature of the rimfire beastie. But since my use is only plinking or target work and not Self defense, jams and duds are only a minor annoyance. I remember buying the ammo as a kid in the late 50's for a penny a piece ($0.50 a box) at my neighborhood hardware store..........yes they WERE good old days.
