Looks like several fools were at the same place at the same time for this one.

This just blows me away! I hope the winning bidder isnt a member here. If you are...you're an idiot!

By all standards this might be a $550 rifle tops. And that would have to include shipping and ffl fee if i were to break open my wallet. The biggest problem with idiotic auctions like this is that everyone else that sees it automatically thinks theirs is worth that much too.

For those that dont want to open the link...its a skeleton stocked 77 MkII in 25-06 with a winning bid of $1500...

Some guy on gunbroker the other day put up a 196 series standard stainless Mini-14 with a wood stock starting at $1400. Nothing special about it. Even the collector one owned by an ex-Mexican president started at $1200.

ANY gun is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Obviously the guy wanted it pretty bad. His reasons are for nobody else to speculate. I see guns all the time in the classifieds here, that I think are WAY too much money, yet guys come on, talk about what a deal it is and snap them right up. So obviously they were worth the asking price to somebody.

I just paid $200 at my LGS for a decent Ruger 44 Carbine and I see these all day long up around $500-$600 and even more at the auctions. Either I got a great deal or these guys selling at Gunbroker are inflating prices. I highly doubt the gun store I got it at, let me steal the gun.
