Hey guys wanted some opinions of a set of grips I'm trying to make. This is the second set I have made in the past couple weeks. The wood came from a guy at a local gun shop who works for a cabinet company and he rescued this from the burn barrel! Anyway I have a larger mit and wanted something a little more filling than the standard thin single action affair. I had the idea from a set of 1911 grips that were thicker in the back and tapered to the front. I also wanted a slight palm swell and a flair at the base. These grips and frame belong to my new 7 1/2 OM 45 convertible. The gun was not as great as I had originally thought and has been refinished. This is the grip frame that came on the gun and it is an early XR3 grip and not the RED. Anyway what do y'all think? These are not done yet and need many more coats of finish.
