My local Pawn and Gun has both a Stainless, and Blued Willy Clapp GP100 in stock at the moment. I have put fingerprints on both of them. Both have better than average triggers for factory revolvers. The SS one has a little smoother action.
My brother has had his SS WC-GP100 for probably 3 years now. It has been by to see Ron Power for his Power Custom Combat work. It is very nice. The guys at the Range looking over my brothers Willy Clapp has resulted in my local dealer selling about 6 of them so far.
I have been thinking about a Blued one since I heard the second round of them would be Blued. The Blued one has a Novak Gold Bead instead of the Fiber Optic front sight. While the Gold Bead looks great on the Blued revolver, for shooting I like the Green Fiber Optic front sight better.
This is a hard decision Blued or Stainless???
I like Blued Revolvers, probably has something to do with being a Senior Citizen. But Stainless is hard to beat due to being easy to maintain.
I know when I get one of them picked up it will get concealed carried a lot in a Rocky Hill Pancake holster. I also have another bad habbit, I shoot everything I own a lot.
This has me thinking a little harder about the stainless one.
Then I get to thinking I could always put an XS 24/7 Tritium front sight on the Blued one to make it an almost perfect concealed carry revolver.
I guess I could stall a little longer, and let him sell one of them, and take the other one. :? :cry: :( That is probably not the best plan either.
I sure do not need both. Make that "WANT", not need. I already have a herd of snub carry revolvers, to include a Custom Shop 3 Inch 66-2. I just do not have a Ruger GP100 snub revolver in the herd yet.
I have always been a Big S&W fan, and I own several. I am starting to like Rugers better and better as time passes. I have owned 4 Super RedHawks so far. Two in 44 Magnum, and two in 480 Ruger. My brother just got a brand new 44 Super RedHawk, and I believe it is better finished than my older ones. I was put off by the screwed on front sight for a little while. Then I decided the new version was probably an improvement after all.
