Sometimes, when you look in the mirror and see an old man staring back at you, contemplation of the future, and the past, intrudes.

Come Not, When I Am Dead

COME not, when I am dead,
To drop thy foolish tears upon my grave,
To trample round my fallen head,
And vex the unhappy dust thou wouldst not save.
There let the wind sweep and the plover cry;
But thou, go by.

Child, if it were thine error or thy crime
I care no longer, being all unblest:
Wed whom thou wilt, but I am sick of time,
And I desire to rest.
Pass on, weak heart, and leave me where I lie;
Go by, go by.
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

I don't quite know what you are trying to say.

When you wake up each morning, you either say, "Good Lord, morning?" Or, "Good morning, Lord."

I prefer the latter.

When I wake up in the morning, I roll over onto my back from whatever position I was in. Reach out with both hands straight up in the air. If nothing impedes my hands I know I've made into another day. :mrgreen: 8)
I figure I just might live forever. Heaven won't have me and Satan is afraid I'll take over. :wink:
As of tomorrow, in 12 more days I'll be 77. Getting old ain't for sisssies.

I'm not much on reading poetry but I have always liked reading Tennysons work.

Though ignored by most people today, I find hauntingly beautiful the early recordings of A.P, Sarah and Maybelle Carter.

You too? Man, that was sangin'!
