I certainly would buy one if I can find a distributor that will sell me one, but since only 2000 will be made, I doubt that one will come my way. :(

Visually it looks like the GP in this thread a little further down the page.

I like the grips, but the hi-vis sight would get in my way.

Just picking it apart. It looks great overall.

I can see it now.
Late one night.

HER - "Honey, it sounds like there's a burglar downstairs."

HIM - "Don't worry dear, I've got the Clapp right here."

OR, two guys meet at the LGS.

"Say Bob, did you get that Clapp yet?"

Nice looking gun but I don't see much difference from the 4", with a fiber optic front sight, that I'm shooting now.
I guess it is kind of hard to improve on perfection. :D :D

TALO isn't a distributor, but a group of independent distributors that go in together to do special runs and limited editions. The head of TALO does a great job of putting together these projects.

WCGP
One of 2000
Mdl 1752
Wiley Clapp influenced the design of Ruger’s latest GP100
3 inch fully shrouded barrel
Matte Hawkeye Stainless Finish
Genuine Novak Rear Sight
Genuine Novak Green Fiber Optic Front Sight
Uniquely checkered one piece rubber grips with Ruger & WC Logos
Custom Diamondwood grip panels inserts

Model Number: 1752
Catalog Number: KGP-33-NVK
UPC Number: 7-36676-01752-2

My only question with the W. Clapp is since they went Novak why not do the low mount tritium dot and the bar rear. Granted night sites are best for finding the gun in the dark and getting the correct end pointed away form you. So, if TALO is going to all that trouble why skimp on the sights? JMVVHO mind you. So is it a full-sized grip with some fancy engraving?

I find the compact grips too small for my big hands, and the aftermarket are HUGE, thinking the old standard style grip might be perfect for me.

Jimbo, does yours have a dovetailed, "fixed" rear sight? I don't think I've seen that on a Ruger GP before.

I've wondered for a long time (decades) why revolver makers didn't put simple, dovetailed, drift-adjustable rear sights on basic revolvers like the S&W M10 and such. :?

It has a different rear sight, 1" shorter barrel and some fancy design on the grip. It is nice but I happen to like the 4" barrel and the easily adjustable rear sight and I have several grips for mine plus the fiber optic front sight. It might carry a little better but it is still a big heavy 357. To each his own. 8) 8)

That Mernickle Crossdraw holster is what I'm getting for my ALASKAN when my buddy comes through with his trade.
I'm attempting to convince a new shooter to go for the GP-100.
See my story below:

My oldest daughter is almost 16.
She has a boyfriend.
His Dad and I went out and had a beer and talked guns --- he's jumping in with both feet on the gun thing 8) ...range membership; CPL; NRA; local gun club; whole 9 yards.
He's a good guy and I applaud his efforts in getting started so thoroughly.
He asked me 'why does anyone want a revolver?' to which I answered, 'you will know very soon'...
...meaning that he will quickly transition with much interest to wheelguns once his fascination with pistols wears off.
( I know what you guys were thinking! )
I recommended the RUGER GP-100 at the outset of the conversation on revolvers.

He's already set on getting an AR15. :)
We laughed about our kids' love and all that. They're good kids. We're lucky in that respect.
My daughter has more shooting experience than the Dad at this point!
It's all good.

I like the gun a LOT! My one and only question is how much strength is lost in the top strap by dove tailing it? I'm sure that there is more than enough top strenght left, but if they can cut it down on this gun, why is it so thick on regular models?

Anyone want the blued version/

as for the front sight, I'd hope to be able to change it our for a tritium front.

That's one thing I like about the LCR, is the ability to install a Novak or Ruger sight.

No real need for a tritium rear with my guns, but it would be a good option to have.
