Wiley Clapp 10mm GP-100 with stags

Hoping someone knowledgeable can answer this....
This "older" 2019 production Wiley Clapp (model 01780) just popped up at a LGS for what I think is a very decent price (includes original box, paperwork, moon clips but no lock). The previous owner thinks that these grip panels came on the gun originally, but after a lot of searching online I can't find a single other example to corroborate this. Does anyone know if this model was ever offered in such a configuration or were the walnut panels the only factory option?
I've never particularly had an itch for a 10mm--let alone a 10mm revolver--but this is a sharp-looking gun and the trigger is simply fantastic. Being a revolver fan it's pretty difficult to pass this one up...

That's a single action size medallion so I'm thinking custom also.

I also vote after market. One of the first things I did with my 10mm was take out the ugly factory piece and to put in a nice custom piece. I can't say I've seen anything other then the wood Hard R panels in any of them.

There used to be a member here who made panels like that but without the medallion thingy.
He did some for me for both SP and GP

I see Ruger and I see 10mm: my two favorite things in the handgun world. At a decent price, as you said, I'd own that in a heartbeat. It looks awesome.

Let's see; GP100, 10mm, decent price. I think the grip insert origins would be the least important thing in my decision list but a 10mm GP100 has been on my 'wish list' for a while.

They look like Sack Peterson to me. I would not know for sure without looking at the underside of the grip panels.

I can't tell by the photo, but it looks like full size grips? As opposed to the compact grips it originally ships with. I also have the original compacts as well as the full size grips. Either way, it's a great revolver. As another note... Sack Petersons grip panels for the GeePee uses a smaller SP101 insert for the compact grips, and I've not seen the SP insert with the Ruger Medallion, however Sack peterson offers the full size grip panels with or without the medallion.

Good catch on the GeePee in 10mm. Took me a long time to find one, and believe me when I say I paid dearly.

While I am a big revolver fan, including the GP and most other Rugers, a 10mm has never been high on my list. I am also a "grip junkie", especially stags, so that's why this was sort of a factor for me.

I agree that they look a lot like Sack's work but will have to pull them to be sure. It is indeed a compact grip, not full-size; the angle of the photo makes them look like a full-size, though.
All things considered, the shop held the gun for me and I am going back today with a down payment. It'll be a nice, somewhat unique model to add to the rest of my Ruger revolvers. Even better, with a little bargaining they came down from 700 to 625 + tax.

Yes, I searched for about 5 years to get mine. I absolutely love it! I also paid more than id like, but happy I did.

Yep, I have many more regrets for not buying particular guns than I do for buying one. You can always sell one that you regret buying, but you can't go back in time and grab the deal you missed.
