Not long ago I stopped into an LGS on my way home from work against my better judgement as my gun fund was running quite low. Sure enough, just as it always happens when the funds are lacking, something was there in the used-handgun display case and it started sweet-talking me. Knowing it was a mistake to do so, the next thing you know I was holding it and stroking it and then bargaining with the shop owner even though their asking price wasn't out of line. Unknown to me, another customer standing a few feet away started eyeing it as I was checking it over, and as soon as those irresponsible words "I'll take it" came from my mouth his face fell and he may have cursed just a little.
I've never particularly wanted a 10mm handgun, but this one was different. The elk stag panels certainly didn't help my self control any, nor did the silky-smooth double-action trigger or the desirable 3-inch barrel. However, seeing the words "Talo" and "Wiley Clapp" on the original box-end label told me it was the right thing to do. With the final ransom payment being handed over today it has found its place in a loving, caring home.
