Depending on how it goes with my Single-Six Hunter dilemna, I am also wanting a BH convertible.

My first instinct is the 6.5" SS .357/9mm. My wife and I both shoot Glock 17s so having a backup cylinder that shoots the ammo we hoard/stockpile the most is attractive. However, I am intrigued by the .45 LC/.45 ACP versions too.

I like to shoot a lot so being able to shoot 9mm or .38 SPL would be easier on my wallet, but still that .45 LC is like a siren calling me.

Anyone who has one or both or just a general opinion care to share their experiences?

Before I started reloading, I used that 9mm cylinder a lot. Almost every outing. Now, no so much, but I still have it.

I also have the 45colt/acp and have used the acp on occasion. Left the house in Fl., got to camp in Georgia, opened the cylinder latch only to discover that the acp cylinder was in it, not the colt that I had planned on using to hunt with. Got lucky that I carry a 1911 and had an extra mag of ammo for it. Decided to carry the 1911 anyway.

I'd go .45; you already have the 9mm covered with a great gun!

;)

I have all 3 convertables ruger makes the single six the 45 colt, acp and the 357 9mm convertable. I have only used the 9mm cylinder and it did fine. The others I have never converted either of them. I like having the option but don't use it. I would suggest you get the 45 convertable because it is a fine gun. I reload and the 45 colt is a super caliber to load for. If you are not a reloader you can still buy some awesome loads for 45 colt even though most are lightly loaded there are others that are available that are right up there with the 44 mag. I have 5 1911 pistols so I have plenty of guns to use in the 45 acp. I have 3 45 colt blackhawks 2 4 5/8" and 1 7.5". One of the 4 5/8" guns is the convertable the others are 45 colt only. If you read on the forum you will see that most people prefer the 45 colt as their favorite caliber. I am one of them. I have just about every caliber handgun made and the 45 colt is my favorite.
