Man I was hoping at the NRA show they would release the SR40c so I could have my new carry gun. I carry a Glock 27 right now and have a S&W m&p 40c new in the box at home I want an SR40c to kinda get a feel for the three different variations to see which I would carry full time. Oh well I guess I will just have to wait a little while longer. Oh and by the way I have already had bad thoughts about buying the SR1911 and changing it to 40cal since I have a pretty good supply of it. I can't wait to see all the variations of the SR1911 I am sure they will hit my wallet hard. Rugers got to love'em

Yep, love the rugers. I haven't come across any reliable information about it, and got nothing from ruger...best way to get info is call the manufacturer lol. My opinion, prolly not till next year...

I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more reaction, but maybe 'cause it's probably been covered and the gun is (just) over the horizon yet, and not in actual sight. But, I'll +1, I've been waiting too since the 9c's and SR40's arrival on the scene. This'll be the ultimate poly-gun.
Added bonus: I'm confident whatever teething issues--if any--the 40 and 9c have had will have been a good laboratory for Ruger and the 40c will be as close to 100% out of the chute as possible.

"Anticipation....."

It's like that old Carly Simon song...

And how great was Carly Simon in 1972? Immeasurably great, IMO. If the SR40c is 1/10th as good a gun as Carly Simon was a performer in this concert, it'll be a milestone gun.

BTW I like and enjoy shooting .40 caliber pistols. My S&W 4040PD Airlite is a fine gun and shoots very well (I know, I have to post some targets) with its factory Hogue grips and good single-stack ergos. I carry it regularly and I wouldn't substitute anything for it - except maybe an SR40c ;).

I was hoping that the c model would have been publicly announced, too.

(Not that I NEED another)  :P

Lateck,

I was looking for a compact .40 pistol and ended up with the Taurus PT740 Slim. Slim it is and about as small as you can go and still be able to handle a .40 caliber round. I've fired about three hundred rounds through it so far and like the 180gr. loads for it best. It's got some snap but controllable and accurate. It has one of the best triggers I've had in a semi auto pistol too.
