As if Son didn't have enough of his stuff to do after Harvy. He and his wife Brandie, who had been volunteering a the church shelter with Granddaughter, decided they needed to help an airport friend. The friend has a small motel in Port Aransas that was devastated. This motel is also their home. Well they also have a hangar at Trey's airport that also received roof damage. Inside their hangar is a a small 10'x15' room they have been living in after a 2 1/4 hour drive form Port A.. OK All well and good except the hangar roof also has damage that is allowing rain to fall on the apartment.
Now along comes Son and Brandie to the rescue. Which means finding material and fixing the roof.
Now don't any of you think just because we and our friends have airplanes we are rich. Yes we are rich in that we have the down to earth friends that we have. These friends will drop what they are doing to give a hand which is still taking place.

On to the next story. As many of you know Grandson is going to Texas A&M. Well the Organization he is a member of left A&M at 5:00 am to come to Houston to help out removing flood damage from houses. It was a very long day for them. Now remember their classes started Monday so they gave up their time to those in need. This is not your wild ass collage kids that you always relate to.
If he was in that group I WOULD NOT associate with him. I Know he is WAY to mature to run with that crowd.
Chad is the one in the middle.
Andrew Haas is with Chad Hayden and 5 others.

Wyandot,
I am fortunate enough to be out of harm's way from Harvey, I have seen the damage in
Rockport at the airport there. I, like you am not really rich, but I had a Cessna 150M and it was my
pride and joy. Kept it at Weiser air park, in Cypress, Texas.
Bought it in 1980 for $8500.00, Now they are going for 5 figures.
Great that your friends are helping each other, in Port Aransas.
Great little airport.
Blackie
