I'm hooked. I recently bought a Mark III and I'm already thinking about what to buy next. I really want a revolver. It may be an impossible question to answer but what would you buy? I guess it all depends on the "mission." When you fly airplanes and you're looking for a bird to buy, you get something that fits what you want to do. If you have family in Montana and want to visit them once a month, a nice Twin Comanche might fit the bill. On the other hand, if you want to visit some friends 60 miles away you might be fine a with a Cessna 140. With that being said, here is my mission: I would like to get something a little different than the norm. Perhaps a little old West. A revolver definitely comes to mind. What comes to yours?

A bearcat is also next on my list as I have the stag grips from Sack Peterson already. (pictured in the gallery.) A bearcat was next, but got diverted by a Mark II. I like revolvers and semi automatics almost equally, so I'm thinking of alternating for a while. However a No. 1 is also high on the list. I don't have a large caliber rifle, .243 is the largest, so I'm thinking one of those Cabela 300 H&H special No. 1's. My list isn't too long, and I really only buy 1 or 2 guns per year.

Everybody should own a single six. Even more American than apple pie or baseball. Ever notice how few used single sixes show up in the shops? Seriously Ruger has made millions over the last 4 decades, the used market should be flooded.
The answer? For most people that own one it is the last gun they would ever sell. For those lucky enough to grow up with a single six it is a family heirloom. Ed

I agree on the single six. However, after you spend a lot time loading and unloading it as opposed to actually shooting it, you'll understand why everyone should have "a" single six.

If you've never investigated the benefits of a 41 Mag, the SBH revolver has a host of virtues.....one of which is, it will inspire you to commence reloading if you haven't hit that part of the hobby yet.

A lot to choose from in the line of RUGERS :) here are two of my 1950's RSS's shooter guns with aftermarket micro sights, a long barrel and a shorter barrel one for different occasions :arrow: you need at least two :wink:

Yeah, the Single Sixes are pretty sweet my friends. I don't think I'd have a problem with adding another .22 to my one gun "arsenal." What model/year does everyone like? The CONVERTIBLE is oh so purty. I mean seriously ya'll, if you go on Ruger's website, you can go out of your mind trying to decide. The Blackhawks are VERY attractive as well. I better go, my wife is yelling at me about being on front of the computer. 8)

When I finaly got my pistol permit (it was a long uphill battle at that time where I live). I went in to order a new convertable single six as my first handgun, but there was a lightly used 357 magnum blackhawk for short money calling my name. So the single six went on hold until I saved some more money then I ordered a stainless single six as my second handgun. They are both great guns and both still look new. That was over 20 years ago. You can't go wrong with either. Ed

I can burn a brick just as easily with a Single Six as I can a K-22 or automatic. Spend enough time with a .22 single action and reloading is quick `n easy. Those magazines don't load themselves.Highstandardguy said:

if you go with .357 magnum you can shoot. 38special for plinking. If you go with convertable single six you'll be adding 22magnum to your list. Either would be a good choice, as I said they were my first handguns. Wich gave me 4 calibers to play with. Ed

I went to a few local shops today and held a number of revolvers. TALO Super Blackhawk, .357 New Blackhawk Convertible, Stainless Single Six. I'm waiting for the Convertible .357 Blackhawk from Williams. The shop here said they'll probably be getting one soon.
