C'mon ... be honest .... :D

Even if you have one on ORDER for a given price, and haven't gotten it yet.

Please post what you paid before taxes and fees, what you paid OTD, and where you're from ... if you don't mind. Maybe we can get an idea where or what part of the country these things are going to primarily.

I'll go first ... everybody knows I have one on order for $575 anyway.

$575 + $34.50 tax (6%) + $5 PICS = $614.50 OTD

Small gunshop in Eastern PA.

Should be arriving .... Whenever ... :D

I've never mentioned how much I paid for mine in fear of being called a liar and I don't much like that. ;)

In any case, $575.00 OTD from a local shop that's just been sold about a month ago. The owner knew I wanted one as soon as he got one in and got a call last May or so.

Doubt I'd get that price now.

My theory is that the first ones to hit dealers were prices as per usual Ruger product markup. When the shortage & demand became apparent the free market system did what it does. The high priced first ones on Gunbroker don't count, there's always that.

This is how you early buyers got the usual discount off of MSRP price.

My LGS sold the only one he's had on Gunbroker for $750 in 20 minutes. Don't blame him one bit. Don't expect him to take a $150 hit to sell it to me for $600.

I paid MSRP for the first one I saw. May 3,2011. Bought in high priced gun store in Prescott Arizona. I've since seen one for $649 in Flagstaff. Friends have been buying them for $650 to $700. I don't regret buying it either. I also have Colts - Kimbers - RIA. Out of the box the Ruger shoots as well as any of the others before working on them.
I know some here will say I paid too much, but I don't let money stand in the way of things I want. I have also way under paid for some guns, so I figure it all evens out in the end.

Need one more field, "Have a quote, but still waiting". That's my situation, price could differ when it arrives from when i put in the order last April.

My LGS quoted me $599. But he can't get them.
So I drove 80 miles and paid $639.95. Glad I got them. (bought 2) $599 is a good price but "he can't get them" and don't
know when he will. Low prices are only good if their in stock, if you can't get them you can advertise any price you want to get more traffic into the store.

That would be the same as 'have one on ORDER for a given price, and haven't gotten it yet' !! :D

Your right Rev, but the difference is, your LGS is a friend, my LGS is just that. "Local Gun Shop". He's in it strictly to make a living at what he likes. He has given me some good deals but then again, sell it or let it sit in the display case. He seems indifferent as to when he might get a SR 1911 in.

Yeah ... I hear ya buscadero. If you already have a 1911 or two ... I'd just shoot the ones you have and be patient. That's my approach at least ... :D

I actually told my guy ... whenever is fine ... one day I'll get a call and it'll be there ... good enough for me ! He usually surprises me as to how soon he gets stuff that I've asked for. I don't expect it until spring next year, but I could be surprised. Spring ?? Summer ?? Fall ? Fine with me either way.

Let me see If I can find my reciept. Oh,here it is! 4/30/2011 @ LGS, $700.00 plus 8.25% tax = $757.75 OTD. Picked it up less than two weeks later. He gave me a $28 box of ammo if you want to take that into concideration. The serial number is in the 3900 range, and I don't remember what color dot it had on it. :D

A couple of weeks ago I went to a LGS, (not where I bought my SR1911) to take my CHL renewal class and there were 5 employees behind the counter. None of them had ever seen the SR1911 except in pictures. They all liked what they saw. This LGS is the biggest store in town and they can't get them either from the looks of it. I don't buy guns from this store because they are high on their prices and they let people try out their guns and put them back on the shelf and sell them as new. I like to break in my own guns.

Didn't see either one of your numbers selected in the poll .... $700 OR $757.

So far it seems like we're definitely clustered at the LOW end of the scale for prices paid. No where NEAR what some here have opined .... by a ratio of about 3 to 1 ... really just about what I thought it would be. We'll have to see after more people check in. :D

I checked $700 in the poll. I thought you wanted before taxes in the poll.
