Ported SR1911 10MM

I bought a SR1911 10MM at the local gun shop. The pistol is ported. Was this offered by Ruger or was it added after by the previous owner?

You guessed wrong Pictures as requested. You can see the port just aft of the front sight. It does help with recoil. A friend has a Colt Delta 10MM and I have shot it, this Ported Ruger does not recoil as much.

Does it increase the report? My SR1911 10mm is definately a lot more to shoot than any of my other 10mm handguns.

It does reduce the recoil a bit. I like the way it shoots, about like a M1911 in .45 ACP.
