What browser do you use?

For years I used Internet Explorer, but for some reason I can't remember I switched to Chrome. Now I find that if I view my email via Chrome, I cannot print the email (something I could do without problem up until yesterday). Now I just get a "Save or Close" option when trying to print although my PC still can print from My Documents or other places. So I uninstalled and re-installed Chrome, with no help. I uninstalled it again and went back to using Internet Explorer. Made me wonder if there are better, more reliable browsers available that others might be using. And not being a computer expert, I wondered if there is any problem having multiple browsers loaded onto the computer at the same time?

Yes, you can have that and Explorer installed at the same time..... I use Firefox and "The Boss" uses Explorer.

Uninstall Chrome and leave it uninstalled.

Multiple browsers will not cause any problems for you. The one item I
suggest to the above quote is to defrag your hard drive after the uninstall.

I prefer Firefox also, which is the current name for Netscape of old.
The one thing you need to remember is to . . not . . check the box that
says "Make xxxxxx your default browser", since you have two different
browsers in use. Other than that, no problem. :wink:

Use multiple browsers! I use one browser strictly for checking bank and stock information. A different browser for purchasing things from internet stores (amazon, newegg, etc). A third browser for surfing the net, looking at forums and general reading.

This keeps the favourites down to a manageable level, and perhaps offers some security for the banking functions.

I use an iMac and have Safari, Chrome and Firefox installed and use Chrome as my primary browser without any problems.

I use chrome. Occasionally when I want to print something from email it asks to save/close. Just save it to your desktop. Right click and print. Yes, it's an extra step but worth it.

I also use Firefox, and though IE is still installed, I don't recall the last time I used it. I used Chrome for a little while, but it's a resource hog and had other issues I didn't care for. I second the defrag. Run it twice.

Hi,

Firefox... 32 bit on the the desktop, 64 bit on the laptop. On my sketchy DSL service, there's not much difference, but with solid higher speed connections it's quite noticeable.

IE is installed on my machines by default, and I've left it on when I installed Firefox, because Windows pitches a fit trying to do its updates without IE. In the last decade or so, the only time I've intentionally used IE was to get some SAAMI drawings because they had some kind of problem getting them to download properly with Firefox at the time. That seemed odd as dozens of vendors and hundreds of other websites I've visited never had such a problem--many today even seem to prefer Firefox. Dunno if SAAMI ever got squared away or not... hope so, as using IE's become an adventure I'm in no hurry to repeat.

SeaMonkey has been my go-to for well over a decade...

Opera WAS the best out there, but then in their infinite 'wisdom', changed engines (Presto to WebKit, now Blink) and became nothing more than a rebranded Chrome clone...

I don't think you have a browser problem. Reinstall your printer, it is not recognizing Chrome.

I.E. 11 is what I use and am happy with it. I also have Avast Anti-Virus SafeZone Browser because it automatically downloaded with the latest version of Avast. I don't use it.

Palemoon 64 bit with Internet Explorer and Chromium Version 49.0.2598.0 (64-bit) for pages that are not happy with Palemoon because of its stricter security standards.
