How are you all doing? Everyone ok with the storms rolling through the country?
Snowing now in Boise. First time in eleven years blizzard warnings for some parts of the State of Idaho. I have my shovel ready.

So that’s where those "shovel-ready" jobs went to. 🙂

Lots of wind last night, a little snow on the ground this morning, but all is good here.

Crazy wind and heavy rain overnight here in Coastal North Carolina. The rain gauge in my pool shows almost 4 inches of rain in about 30 hours.
Fields are flooded, creeks overflowing, but no injuries reported. Sun is shining bright with a stiff, cold wind this morning.
Thanks for asking.

Here in my area of WNC,, we had major rain, lots of flooding, and washed out roads in several places. Miss Penny had to take a different route home last night because of closed roads. And It's been declared a natural disaster for many parts of our area. I couldn't go to a scheduled customer's house today because of the road closures. Miss Penny's working from home too.
But we are fine here,, no problems.

Hey now! What about a post in the summer asking if everyone in Dallas is ok under the oppressive heat? 😀

Actually we are supposed to get down to 11° Sunday night. Yikes!

we have some friends that live up in Iowa. And my wife and I were wondering what people with dogs do when it gets really cold like that? The friends don’t have a dog.

Do they (dogs, not my friends) still go outside to pee when it’s -4 or colder?

gotta get a little bit of snow cleared soon...kinda delays some of my plans today...🥶

Yep, and you get to go with them. One more reason why we have a cat.

Cool and windy, not much else. The weather has been kinda unusual for the last month. Colder than normal and very few 80 degree days with sunshine. The Christmas snow birds got no beach weather.

38-degrees and perpetual rain in Western Oregon. My Boy, 30-miles North, got snowed on a little last night. Micro-climates prevail here, affected greatly by the Pacific Ocean and Columbia River.

The forecast continually morphs. We were supposed to have been dumped on, but it's now postponed til the weekend. Three continuous days of below freezing will be quite a cold spell for us. Folks wont be prepared, and the plumbers, body shops, and tow-trucks will make millions.

about another 1/2" over night , and then I had to go to our Rock Island Il., terminal this morning , so instead of 2-laning it like we usually do , i went I 90/94 , down to I 39 to I 88 to I 80 to I 280 , that's about 35 miles longer but just about the same amount of time , big thing was no ice to speak of

Local reports of 10-15" of snow but only 4-5" of actual accumulation on bare dirt or grass due to warm soil temps melting snow from the bottom. Under the snow is MUD-not frozen ground. Makes snow removal problematic. I spent 2 hours on the skid loader scraping snow off driveway and parking areas so those will freeze rather than continue to be muddy slop.
I had some drifting up to 2-3' in the usual places plus some different drift patterns related to the loss of old buildings and construction of new.

What?!?!?

That's sort of good news - since I really dislike snow and in my 45 years in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington), we've had snow almost every year. We don't get a lot, but when we do it's also icy and the terrain is hilly. Things shut down.

I've thought of bailing out of this anti-gun state for Idaho and this would be another reason.

You would be welcome :D The free State of Idaho is a great place to live.

And plenty of good places to shoot.

In North Central Kansas at the intersection of I-70 and I-35 we received 6-8" of snow a couple days ago. Everything shut down going west to Colorado for most of the day. More snow on the way 1-3" and by Sunday it will be 7 below. More snow the first of the week and continued bitter cold with lots of wind.

I haven't had snow like this for maybe 3-4 years. It's more normal than not and the kids like playing in it. I would like to sight in a rifle today, I just put new sights on it but not sure I can get into where I want to...so another day...oh yea, we got at my joint about 3 inches of wet snow night before none last night...
