I am in the process of turning an old beat up SS Bisley Vaquero into a woods carry gun .I wanted to do something to the front sight so I can have a better site picture I want to keep the blade .Any ideas and pictures that can achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

hmm. I don't know if that helps; but I blackened the edge of the blade of mine a bit, and the inside or backside of the back sights - to increase the contrast... I used matte black laquer after thoroughly cleaning with acetone...
The main faces I kept silver though, I only did the ridges...

John Gallagher recut mine at an angle and serrated the rear face. Made worlds of difference.
