Have a chance to buy this gun, but unsure of the value. Their asking 750, seems kind of high to me what do you guys think?

Unless some customization that I cannot see - $550. I paid around that for a Blue NV; same barrel length; 2 45LC/45ACP; w/ faux ivory grips - and in beautiful shape. Not sure of the "Special Edition" model, that this one claims to be. Good Luck!

Could be a Davidson's exclusive? What are the first four digits in the serial number? You might give Davidson's a call. Box logo shows SR so it may have been made before the change to R.

Sounds kinda high.

Very nice looking shooter.

Greetings!
This appears to be an old Vaquero (with the larger frame). These were a limited edition but I don't recall the production numbers.
As a very desirable dual cylinder model in a very desirable finish and barrel length, the price might be a little high, but not by much, maybe $50-100 if NIB. (If you can find a NIB one for $550-600, please let me know where it is!) If there's not much wear on it, try to talk them down just a bit, but don't expect much of a drop; the prices on the old model Vaqueros have gone up quite a bit over the last few years, as supply has decreased.

If it is a Davidson's Distributor special, it'll likely be a KBNV-455X variation. They did come in a specially marked box, and were convertables. I bought mine about 8 months ago, LNIB for under $600.

It appears to be a KBNV-44X (Original) Vaquero with the 4 5/8" barrel in stainless. Ruger model number 0519. This information should be on the box's label.

RENE suggests that 2,619 were made up for Davidson's between 1999 and 2004.
So...not common but not really 'rare' either. Value may be affected by the current New Vaquero .45 convertibles.

We finally worked out a deal where both of us walked away with a big smile on our face. I think mine was a little bigger. Loving this six shooter, and haven't even fired a shot yet.

Have to admit its the first time I have ever used 22 ammo to negotiate the price. With the ammo and cash combined I got it in the 550-600 price range. Thanks for the info.

The catalog number on the box is KBNV-44X-C model 00518. Guessing that makes it a Davidson's. Is the catalog number kind of like a Vin number on a car, where each letter or number means something special?

Anyway you look at it, it's a beautiful gun! I have a New Blackhawk 45 convertible and it is a joy to shoot and maintain! Thanks for the pics!

Congrats on getting a nice gun. Yes, the catalog designation is kinda like a VIN. Everything does have a meaning. So, yours is;
KBNV means stainless Blackhawk New model Vaquero with high polish finish.
44 means 45 Long Colt with a 4-5/8" barrel.
X means convertible, (45 ACP cylinder.)
C normally means "color case hardened," but if I'm correct, I think it's designation is something for the distributor special. The model # of 00518 is listed as from Davidsons.

Mine is on the lower left with other Ruger 45LC/.45ACP convertibles. It has some aftermarket grips from Ajax on it and came in the black box. It was $510 new from a gunstore in 2004 when I bought it. Of course inflation marches on.
