I have been window shopping fer a while and used guns are not only way over priced but I have been seeing a lot of JUNK, Is it just me or are our fellow shooters/ sportsmen trying to rape each other?

It's a seller's market and when it is as tight as it is right now often the scum comes to the top.

With that said, over the nears I've bought a number of used guns via the internet and have never felt wronged.

I've put one (the first of disposing my collection of 77s & 1s) on consignment at local shop and No One has looked at it. The only guns being bought as fast as they arrive are black pistols, shotguns and ARs. And I feel like I'm asking very low not even considering the now panic buying

Local Shop no longer can order any thing and only can get what distributers offers. Prices are high and being sold quicked. thus as friend of owner, I haven't gotten any discount on my recent purches of new blacks. I've paid way more than what I could have gotten them for two/three years ago, but felt I "needed" a few modern

Collectible long guns are not a good consignment item unless your local shop specializes in that sort of thing and will bring in that group of buyers.

The internet is a wonderful tool for connecting buyers to sellers, I suggest you figure out how best to use it to divest of your collection.

Quality of used guns is often better than new ones, a reason for higher prices in my opinion.

The market right now is for black high capacity plastic. There are fewer people in the market for traditional guns. However the new market of traditional guns is slim pickings right now. Manufacturers are pumping out black plastic as fast they can. Gunshops are selling them so quick that is about all they are stocking and they have limited choices of traditional guns to even order. So the used market is about the only option for a lot of folks. Internet prices are high right now. But in most cases it is because it is what the nationwide market will bear. Can't think about what a gun is worth in your zip code.

Gun inventory in my area is better than it was 6 months ago, but prices are 20 to 30 per cent higher.

Stores have ammo, but prices are sky high, e.g. $1 per round of 5.56 fmj.

If the current market allows a Ruger Forum member to make an extra $50 or $100, more power to them.

It is my job to determine what I will pay.

I would much rather buy a older gun than I would any new one. I recently bought 2 guns from a member on this forum. One was 25 years old and one was 17 years old. The quality of these older guns makes them worth more money. Both guns I bought were NIB and never fired or fired very little if any. They were both a 10 out of a 10. I was very pleased with both guns & the seller was top notch.

I have a few guns that I almost never shoot, and could easily live without, like my Ruger P97dc or my Sr40c. But these guns weren't costly when new, and the amount I could get for them is not enough for me to consider it. Even just for the pleasure of taking it out of the safe now and them and holding it, maybe cleaning it. If I had an expensive collectible I would likely put it on the forum for sale.
