Used 50th. .357 BK front sight base

Bought a used 50th. 357BHFT to use as a shooter.

The gun has a heavy dent in the base of the front sight. The blade and 4 5/8 " barrel are untouched. The dent is on the base's angled flat near the 50th. on roll mark.

It is a deep dent and is going to need something like filing it out.

How to go about doing this and not scratching up any other areas of the gun?

Cover the nearby area with lots of tape. Get the gun clamped down so it won't move. Take your time.

Of course, showing us some good close up images will probably result in a post that has some really good tips!
