I'm thinking about adding a volquartsen kit to my Mark III. I'm also considering the larger slide and magazine releases and a spring loaded magazine release. I see a number of parts available and was wondering if some of you might have other suggestions while I'm ordering parts. Comments appreciated.

I don't like the large bolt release, the best way to close the bolt is to "Slingshot" it, ie pull it back and let it go.

The only parts you really need are the sear and the trigger.

+1

I would add the Volquartsen hammer, as well. Trigger, hammer, & sear come as a complete kit from Midway, Natchez, Brownell's, etc.

i have the sear which greatly improved the trigger pull. i do not have the trigger...

i had a lot of failure to fire so i put in their firing pin and i also had quite a few stovepipes so i put in their extractor.

I like the way my Hunter is right now just like that.

I say that the sear is the most important "upgrade." (that is if the gun is working correctly)

I put the target trigger and the sear in, also put in a Clark bushing to do away with the mag safety. After the target triger and sear you will not believe the diffrence in the trigger.

The way valquartsen has their pricing set you might just as well order the whole trigger kit, it comes with a slide release also. Slide release is cheesy but it functions fine. Worth the investment. Might want to get a LCI filler also, head over to rimfirecentral forum, someone makes them, I think $20 shipped.
