I read on another Forum that these guns are "tuned" a bit more than the usual Vaqueros. I have a Montado that would rate as a "Custom Shop" model (2.5-3 lb trigger pull, timed perfectly, exceptional fit & finish), if Ruger had such a thing. So I suspect what I read is true.
Anyone able to shed some light?

The SASS guns look like the montado and are marked with the SASS marshall along with a SASS marshall 'medallion'. The action is a bit smoother than a normal New Vaquero, or they at least feel that way to me, and they do have lighter springs in them.

All of the New Vaqs and limited edition versions of them have a softer hammer spring than other Ruger single actions at the request of Cowboy Action shooters. I have never seen any proof positive that they are tuned any better than other Ruger models however the softer spring certainly gives my Montado and 44 NV Sheriff a superior trigger pull and action feel right out of the box.

Got my set, and they are nicely done, but certainly not a cut above.
And, unlike my 4 year old Montado, they are not a nickel imitation. Oh, the polishing is fine, but there is, for lack of a better word, a 'burnished" look to the stainless steel. Aged, or an attempt to be. Not unsettling, but was expecting the mirror polished finish of the Montado.
