TWO COMMERCIALS THAT DRIVE ME NUTS

I agree; ALL THREE are total worthless and they should FIRE the writers, producers and actors responsible for that trash; Fire the executive that approved the idea too and change advert agencies immediately.

IMHO, the ideas for these commercials must have came from some drug/alcohol induced hallucination that the folks out in Hollywood are so well known for. No doubt in my mind that the folks that made these TV ads were paid big bucks for their "efforts".

The ones that bug me the most come from the various "sea food" houses.
They splash their "butter" all over the place, EVERY time.

Second worst are the ones pouring juice (or such) and spill it all over.

Seems to be a common thread to them.
Made for the brain-dead. Be they 14, or 64, or anywhere in between.

How about the TV ads for the program you are actually watching? Duh!

Fox News probably has the most atrocious collection of flim-flam sponsors I know of -- free money mortgage scams for the old; wailing "Say a Prayer for Peace" for a fraudulent veterans cause; buy silver ads -- when they have to advertise the bottom just fell out of that market; and the Pillow for scads of $. Between that and the supercilious delivery of inane news commentary -- how many different ways can they say "We don't know what we are talking about and forcing on you" And when they rarely do have actual news content to impart, the message has been dumbed down to near NSNBC levels in an effort to appear "fair" that lets WH and DNC lies slide.

Boy, that rant got out of hand.

The woman that is in all the AARP commercials, that are for phones and insurance, etc., is to me like fingernails on a chalkboard. She knows everything about anything and does everything. "Thanks", to the inventor of the 'mute' button.

The mute button is your friend.
Commercials can be funny when you don't hear the squawking babble they spew.

Many commercials are stupid, gross, mis-representing, or annoying in some form or another to most of us. Yet, there are people who look at things differently, and as such, what may be stupid to me, can be funny to someone else, and confusing to another person.
To each his own.

One of the selling points for cable tv was no commercials when it first started now its way to expensive and loaded with commercials ,4 or 5 in a row !    Shows how zombified we can become !

I wear out one "remote" . . . per year.

But then again, I would be slim and trim if I got up and changed channels
by hand.

And don't forget the "ambulance chasers r us" attorneys.
Or the "you have the RIGHT to the internet" add's.

Any one else notice the Honda commercial that uses a Germatic racial slur for its theme?

the one that gets my attention starts out "want to feel good and enjoy life again" only to latter find out it is for filing bankrupcy!

On a web board, talking about certain commercials...............why fire the ad guys? They DID their job perfectly

The one on the radio station that I listen to, that I hate is the one that says" You have the RIGHT not to pay all your credit card debt, let us help you take care of it." (Wonder how much they charge, and if the person can't pay their CC debt, how can they afford to pay these people?)

Wait, didn't YOU get yourself into this situation and did you not think that you have an obligation to pay your just debts. However, with all the mouth breathing, brain dead, "entitlement" people out there I guess they think they can do anything that they want and have no obligations (moral or legal) to anyone.

I mostly prerecord anything I want to watch then use that fast button for the commercials. Most half hour shows now take only about 15 minutes to watch.

i found the "snack patrol" commercials quite amusing. anything that uses such massive doses of sarcasm is fine by me. all the "whoa"s are an obvious poke at the myriad (and horrible) cop shows out there at the moment. the champagne shopper, on the other hand, is absolutely one of the worst commercials i have ever seen in my entire life, and i am old. garbage.

We don't watch commercials at our house.
Wait...................we don't have cable. Or a tv.
Hmmmm.
I bet that's the reason.
However from what I remember, tv shows weren't any better than the commercials.

That is exactly what we do at our house. At least 99% of the tv we watch is recorded onto the dvr. I think it holds something like 250 hours of HD television. I think a lot of people do this, which is why you will see product placement so prominent in the program itself.

We bought a ROKU and subscribe to a couple of channels through it, for about $20.00 a month of commercial free TV and movies. Lots of free channels (classics and foreign movies) as well as the over-the air local channels if we care to watch some with ads. We watch the local news for the weather.

Another one I cant stand it the blond with the screechie voice trolling for people to call about suing for "Talcum powder" and a list of other ambulance chasing items, I don't listen so can't recall all of them. Just a low life ambulance chaser looking for his 40% cut.

I liked it better when there were no commercials about toenail rot, scaly feet, vaginal odor, catheters, erectile dysfunction, etc.

Hi,

I've got all of those!

Oh, wait, no I don't. Which means they're wasting a lot of time and effort trying to sell me stuff I'll never buy. Even if it has "wings!" Sheesh...

What I love are the lawyer commercials where some plaintiff got a $Multi-Mil$ or large $settlement$ because he/she retained lawyer(X). My first question to the suer would be how much did lawyer(X) get as his fee/expenses? :o :P

Ditto that! They take a third, plus expenses, and client waits years, if ever, to see anything. I know a lady that won a medical malpractice suit (sponge left in during surgery) for $350k. After all the sharks and vultures were paid off (lawyers, expert witnesses, consultants, etc) got their cut, she ended up with less than $50k. Talk about a racket.

I think from time to time about dumping cable (very expensive). I'd be lost though without TCM (Turner Classic Movies).

Does your service include TCM?

The other issue is that my internet access is bundled with cable, and I'd need a low cost, but fast internet solution as well.

I believe it does. They have many to offer. A subscription to a channel gives you quite a few choices. Channels are like, Netflix , Crackle, Sports channel, etc. Many free channels that offer movies and TV programs with the commercials, if you care for them. Amazon TV (which is also another ROKU channel) has players too, as well as HULU. This gives us a great many options.
Here's their site...
