slightly disenchanted with late model chassis swap. blemishes the vintage aspect a bit, but at least it's just a decade jump and definitely a major power upgrade with mechanical technology. also not impressed with lack of attention to detail but overall nice functional companion to the camper.
460 4wd F250 is a good choice for that rig considering what was available in 1963. and much like modern times, we don't necessarily consider mileage first when performance is needed/desired. good luck pushing that brick around at highway speeds with a small block of that era without beating the crap out of it. that realization led to manufacturers development of big block pickups in the mid 60's continuing into the 70's. and swaps such as this when later models proved more suitable for the task.
trivia for those that didn't know, the 460 was introduced in ford trucks in 73, coincidentally the same year chevy introduced the 454 in trucks. ;)
the camper however is amazing! very rare that well preserved. this is the holy grail of vintage camper finds. very similar well preserved del rey sky lounge on a 68 c20 turned up a couple years ago, boy was it a peach!
curious what they're asking for this one. quick interweb search indicates it's sold recently but current dealer not listing a price.
