Trigger replacement on an AR

When replacing the trigger on any given AR15, does the replacement need to
be a small pin or large pin model? I seem to recall that Colt mostly used the
larger pins on earlier models but I can't be sure, help will be appreciated,
thanks. I'm thinking of the Timney type unitized drop in designs. :D

I cant help with the pin sizes you have but can comment on the timney. I wanted a lighter trigger but didnt need a bench trigger either...its a 16" carbine. I just wanted a good clean break compared to the gritty mile long pull from a factory trigger. Went with the 4lb timney and am very pleased with it.

Hello,

Standard pin size that is found today is (.154") for hammer and trigger pins.

Colts shipped with .170" hammer and trigger pins for years but has since moved to standard .154" pins as well.

I highly recommend the CMC drop in triggers. I have three in my rifles and they are well made and perform above my expectations.

You might also consider the POF trigger. I like mine and they come with anti-walk pins.

I too, have two AR15's and one AR-10 and all three rifles have CMC triggers installed and am 100% pleased with their performance.

You'll like the Timney. Easy to put in. As a not so discriminating AR shooter I go with the Rock River Arms 2 stage because it works well and costs only $79.00
