So I used the "Notify Me" button at Midway USA to get some 9mm FMJs. This was last week. This AM I log on my PC and there's an e-mail from them saying stock available. By the time I see the
e-mail and respond at 10:45 this morning, they're gone!

So in this electronic, instant media age, we have about a 2 hour window. Fella doesn't have a chance. Crap!

I set up three "notify me's" for once-fired 223 brass. I got two e-mails one day but I was too late (about 3 hours). A few days later, I got two more e-mails. Again, I was too late (about 2 hours this time). A few days later, I got one e-mail and again I was too late, only 15 minutes this time! I started checking their website and finally caught a break - they had the brass in stock but I had not received any notification. I ordered in record time!

Can you backorder them? Don't backorders get first dibs?
Midway just says Out of Stock-No Backorder at this time. Only option is just the "notify me" thing. Hornady 124 gr. FMJ are only available in 100 & 1490 bulk packs. All other intermediate qtys are Disc. by Midway.
Some others (Cabelas) aren't even showing the items at all on popular stuff. You can't even look up a 9 mm ammo or bullet.

Why don't you just call and order from Montana Gold Bullet, they are half the price of Hornady (less actually) and free shipping.

I have had notifications set up for .223 bullets, if you don't get on within about 5-10 minutes, they're sold out. Luckily, I get notifications on my phone of new emails, follow the link, and check out on the phone. I've gotten lucky a couple of times.

Don't forget to go in and renew the notification even if you miss it, it's a one-time deal so if you've gotten an email, you won't get another unless you set it up again.

Finally caught one. Tonight I got a notification at 7:30 PM for Ranier 9mm 124 gr plated round nose bullets. I got into Midway in minutes and placed an order for 1000. It's gotten kind of like playing the slots, only the prize is spending my own money. Crazy.
Never loaded 9mm before. Hope the reviews were accurate. I usually start off with a small qty of new components. Oh well. At least I can load 'em.

All ya'll should have seen this comming. I started before August stocking up on bulk ammo that I do not reload.
Remember spring 1999? I feel for ya'll.

Their site has been down for two months, if not more. They will put it back up when they catch up on orders, that's what I was told by them.

Montana Gold is not taking any more orders(so I've been told). The last case of 9mm bullets I got there took 3 weeks or so to ship.
Midway's notify process is OK but those people packing smart phones get the notice before those of us who don't have round the clock access to emails. I've don't know how many of those notices I've received only to find the item sold out before I got the notice.

Imagine that, Montana Gold's site went back up for ordering last night. They show most bullets out of stock but it may be a sign of easing.

Even with my smartphone, just the time it takes to go through the checkout process is enough for things to be sold out by the time I hit the final "submit order" button.

Those Ranier bullets should work perfectly well. I shoot a lot of the ranier plated 200gr through my 45acp.

I was in Cabela's in Dundee, MI. on Saturday. Therewas not a single box of any pistol bullet of any kind or size and no primers excet 209s. There were rifle bullets and rifle ammunition. Lots of guns being sold too.
