This moose was spotted about 14 miles from where we live.

neat , reminds me of way back in the early 1960s my Dad, Uncle and I were up in Quebec ( Kirtland Lakes) heading over to Val D'Or and one came out of the woods on the right side, Dad beeped the horn and the damn thing chased us!!!! Looked like yours in the picture, but MEANER !!! Merry Christmas........:oops:

I added a message to a previous post (probably on a different forum) that moose should be avoided if at all possible. Reason: one of my previous bosses and his family (REALLY nice people) were driving in Canada and while in their car were attacked by a bull moose, which could have killed them, simply because it was rut season and the sun glinted off the windshield of their car. Be extra careful.
you got it, they are NOT something to mess with my uncle up in Val D'Or,Que. was treed by a moose when he was calling across the river with a rolled up hunk of tree bark, another got behind him and as I said "treed " him, he screwed up and left his rifle leaning against another ,smaller tree, walked to the edge of the water to 'call' the moose he could see, the ne behind him treed him in another bigger tree, banged the hell out of his tree, he unloaded his revolver into the top of its head and it walked off into the woods before it dropped dead...AND we were shown a picture by the police chief of Val D"Or,.,, of a guy that hit an 1800 pound moose, knocked it down, the moose trampled his 1960 Chrysler ,killing him and it too went off into the woods before it dropped dead.....ouch!! a real learning experience.......:cool::oops:

A few years back a fellow was driving North on I-95 in Maine when a moose fell through his windshield and killed him. The moose had been crossing over I-95 on a bridge when it met a pickup going the other way. It got spooked and jumped over the railing and landed on the car passing below. A thousand pounds of moose coming through your windshield can ruin your whole day.
1/10th of a second either way the guy probably would have survived.
