Thunder and Lightning

That's what I call 'em (sorry for the poor pic - not much of a camera and not much of a photographer):

I just picked up Thunder this week. A .44 Special Sheriff's (New) Vaquero. It was in the Cabelas case at $499 along with a 4-5/8" version at the same price (since Lightning is a 4-5/8", I thought I'd go with something different.) Cabelas had all Vaqueros at $50 off, and I had a Cabelas club coupon for $20, so it was $429 all together.

Thunder booms, and lightning is fast. Lightning is a .357 New Vaq, my first Ruger.

A little history on your names. :wink:
The Colt M1877 was a double action revolver manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company from January 1877 to 1909 for a total of 166,849 revolvers. The Model 1877 was offered in three calibers, which lent them three unofficial names: the "Lightning", the "Thunderer", and the "Rainmaker". The principal difference between the models were in their calibers: the "Lightning" being chambered in .38 Colt; the "Thunderer" in .41 Colt. Both models had a six-round ammunition capacity.[1] An earlier model in .32 Colt known as the "Rainmaker" was offered in 1877.
